It is not a kit of the vehicle but a replacement for the plastic parts; on a drive sprocket the accuracy pays off twice over, because the teeth and the way they engage the track are clearly visible on a model.
The Jagdpanzer 38 was created on a reworked chassis of the Panzer 38(t) light tank and from 1944 became one of the most numerous German light tank destroyers. It had the drive sprocket at the front and the idler at the rear. The oldest, preseries examples differed from later series production in a number of details including the pattern of the drive sprocket - vehicles from the start of production therefore cannot be built faithfully from the standard parts intended for series machines alone. This set deals with exactly that difference.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and dress the area with a file; do the sanding wet or with respiratory protection. It is glued with super glue; cement for plastic will not bond resin. Glue the drive sprocket only after a dry fit, so that the teeth line up with the guide teeth of the track - with a hard plastic track this has to be verified before it goes on. Start the painting with a primer, and then let the teeth and their sides be lightened by a light rub of a metallic shade, because that is exactly where the paint wore through on the real vehicle.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
