Red Army badges up to 1943 in 1:10 scale from Quinta Studio are an accessory for finishing off busts and large Soviet figures.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Quinta Studio brings the badges worn by members of the Red Army before the uniform reform of January 1943. It is not a kit or a figure but an accessory for a figure that is already built and painted.
The 1:10 scale belongs to busts and large figures, on which the chest is the main place the eye goes. That is exactly where small uniform decorations tell the most, and at the same time where it is most glaring when you paint them inaccurately. The viewer looks at a model like that from close up, and at this size the tip of a brush reaches the limit of what it can do.
January 1943 was a fundamental dividing line for Soviet uniform: the way ranks were shown changed, and with it the overall look of the uniform. The set therefore aims at the older form, that is at subjects from the first years of the war and from the time just before it.
Modelers who build Soviet busts and large figures and want the uniform detail to agree with the period up to 1943. It will also be appreciated by those who paint figures for competitions, where the accuracy of small accessories is judged and where it is precisely the chest of the figure that decides the overall impression.
