A bust in 1:10 scale with a German tank officer of the Second World War as its subject. The model is intended to be glued together and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The bust captures a German tank officer from the period of the Second World War, that is, a figure in which the uniform, the cap and the gear all come together on a small area around the head and shoulders. That is where most is visible on a figure model: in 1:10 scale what decides is the face and the transition between skin and collar, not the size of the whole.
A bust in 1:10 scale intended to be glued together and painted. The number of parts, the material and the recommended procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Join the parts with an adhesive suitable for the material they are made of; with figure models super glue is commonly used.
Offer the parts up dry first and find the seams at the neck and the shoulders; those are always filled and sanded before painting. Then wash and degrease the surface and spray it with a primer, otherwise the paint will rub off a smooth material. Plan the order: the large areas of the uniform first, the face and the small accessories only afterwards, so that you do not have to touch a finished face. Build the shades thinly and in layers, otherwise the folds of the cloth will disappear. Finally choose the varnish according to the surface, matte on broadcloth and skin, satin on leather and metal.
The bust belongs to a modeler who works on figures and wants to try working with skin and cloth in a large scale. It stands on its own in a display case, because unlike a figure for a model it is not tied to a scene. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
