A basic set of masking templates in kabuki paper for a model of the A-1H or A-1J Skyraider attack aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Masking templates cut from kabuki paper for a Skyraider model in 1:72 scale. Kabuki paper is a thin Japanese tape with a slightly tacky adhesive: it holds in place, it does not pull the finish away when removed and it gives in to a curved shape as well, so the edge of a sprayed area comes out sharp. The set is listed as BASIC, that is in the basic scope; an EXPERT variant is also made for the same type. What exactly the individual templates cover is shown by the manufacturer's instructions.
The Douglas Skyraider was a single-engine piston attack aircraft with a radial engine, built still according to the experience of the Second World War. Unlike jet machines it could carry a large load of armament and could stay over the battlefield for long hours, which made it a sought-after support for ground units and an escort for rescue helicopters. The A-1H and A-1J designations belong to the late single-seat versions.
The templates are stuck onto a finished and degreased surface still before spraying. Separate them with the tip of a knife or with tweezers, lay them in place and press the edges down firmly, above all in the corners: the paint seeps wherever a mask does not seat. Spray in thin coats, so that no step forms on the edge. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried and pull it over itself rather than straight up.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
