1:48 Stripes For Lozenge is a sheet of decal strips in 1:48 scale that complete the printed lozenge pattern camouflage fabric on models of First World War aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of Techmod decals in 1:48 scale with narrow strips that imitate on the model the rib tapes covering the seams of a covering made of printed camouflage fabric. What is called lozenge was a covering with a printed polygonal pattern, used on First World War aircraft instead of laborious spraying of camouflage. On the real aircraft the tapes were glued over the ribs and the seams so the covering would hold, and without them a model with a lozenge pattern looks flat and unfinished.
First apply your own lozenge sheet to the model or spray it, let the surface mature and varnish it with a gloss varnish. Only then do the strips come into play. Cut them with a sharp scalpel along a ruler to the length needed, soak them briefly and slide them into place with a brush and a little water. Because they are long and narrow, they easily wrinkle or tear, so it pays to work in shorter sections. Over the ribs and the leading edges, settle them with a decal softener so they follow the shape. Wrinkling while drying is normal and evens out by itself, so do not touch the softening film. Finally, unify everything with a matte or satin varnish.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The model, the lozenge sheet and the paints are not included in the package.
