1:48 Bf 109G-6, Ofw. Arnold Doring is a sheet of wet decals in 1:48 scale for marking a particular Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6. An accessory for a finished model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of wet decals from the OWL brand in 1:48 scale devoted to the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 flown by a pilot with the rank of Oberfeldwebel named Arnold Doring. The Bf 109 G-6 was the most numerously produced version of the whole line, recognizable above all by the covers over the breeches of the fuselage guns ahead of the cockpit. The sheet is not a model in itself; it is used as an accessory on a finished and painted kit of the same scale.
Before you reach for the sheet, the model must be completely painted and the areas under the decals varnished with a gloss varnish. Gloss is the only thing that reliably prevents air being trapped under the carrier film and a light framed outline appearing around the motif. Let the varnish cure properly; a day in a warm, dry place is usually enough.
Cut the motif out as close to the printing as you can, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and set it aside. As soon as the film can be slid across the backing paper, slide it onto the model and adjust the position with a brush. Push the water out from under the decal with a soft cloth or a cotton swab, working away from the center. On broken-up places, such as the gun covers or the wing root, use a decal softener: start with the milder one and reach for the more aggressive one only when the decal refuses to cling. The wrinkles that appear in the process are normal and disappear once dry. Unify the finished surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
The contents of the package are a sheet of decals. The kit, the paints, the varnish and the decal softener are not included.
