AMMO WARGAMING UNIVERSE 06 – Weathering Combat Vehicles

AMMO Wargaming Universe 06 - Weathering Combat Vehicles

Unlike the others, the sixth part of the range is tied not to one setting but to one subject - combat vehicles. That is a practical difference: while the terrain parts of the range deal with what a landscape looks like, this part deals with what use does to a vehicle. Rubs on the edges of hatches, chipped paint on the surfaces that are stepped on, streaks from lubricants, dust settled into recesses and the differing dirtiness of the upper and lower parts.

What the set deals with

A vehicle that comes out of the paint booth looks like a toy. Only weathering gives it scale and weight, because the eye judges size partly by the quantity of small irregularities on a surface. The set is put together so that the procedure can be repeated across a whole group of vehicles and they all look like part of one unit rather than randomly assembled models.

Use

• Rubs and chipped paint on edges, hatches and the surfaces that are stepped on.
• Picking out rivets, welds and engraved lines with flowing effects.
• Dust and dirt settled into recesses and on the running gear.
• Unifying the look of several vehicles into one unit.

Who the set is for

• Wargamers who weather vehicles in larger numbers.
• Modelers of military vehicles looking for the products for a theme in one package.
• Builders of dioramas where the vehicles are meant to match the surrounding terrain.
• Beginners who are only starting out with weathering vehicles.

These are modeling chemicals, not a kit. The exact makeup of the set and the number and volume of the individual items are given on the packaging. Work in a ventilated room and do not inhale the loose pigments.
