A German pilot and radio operator for the Fokker G-1 in 1:48 scale is a set of figures meant to complete a model of this twin-boom aircraft. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of figures in 1:48 scale represents a German crew, that is a pilot and a radio operator, for a kit of the Fokker G-1 aircraft. It is not an aircraft model but figures that give a model human scale and bring a scene on the ramp to life. They are either seated in the cockpit or stood beside a finished model.
The Fokker G-1 was a Dutch twin-engine heavy fighter of late 1930s design, with a characteristic twin-boom tail and a short fuselage nacelle in which the crew sat. Heavy gun armament in the nose made it one of the most striking European aircraft of its category. After 1940 some of the surviving machines passed into German hands and served with training units, which is the context this crew belongs to.
First try the figures dry in the cockpit space, because in 1:48 scale every millimeter decides the result. Remove the mold seams and casting remains carefully with a scalpel and fine sandpaper, working in small steps on thin parts. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on small castings super glue works well. After a base coat, paint the skin, then the flying suit and finally the small items such as the harness, the flying helmet and the goggles. At this scale fine shading works better than hard transitions, and a thin filter or a light wash helps to unify the result.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
