Dual Exo is an acrylic range from the AK interactive brand whose shades are listed in pairs marked with the letters A and B. This set brings exactly such a pair together under number 18: Starship Grey and NCC Grey. The individual paints of the same names are made separately and belong to the acrylic range with a satin finish, so the coat is neither flat nor highly glossy and looks finely silky on a model.

A semi-gloss is a useful compromise in practice. On a smoother satin surface decals hold better than on a flat one and no silvery veil forms under them, while such a coat stands up to later weathering and can be covered at any time with a matte or a gloss varnish according to how the model is finally to look. Use
