1:48 TBF-1C is a set of pre-colored 3D printed interior elements on decal paper. It is intended for a model of the Grumman TBF Avenger carrier torpedo bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avenger is one of those models where an interior really pays off. The fuselage is glazed over a large area and the inside is visible from several sides, so a bare plastic tub with engraved relief catches the eye. This set from Quinta Studio handles the detail with pre-colored 3D printed elements on decal paper that are transferred with water like an ordinary decal.
The Grumman TBF Avenger was a single-engine carrier torpedo bomber with an internal bomb bay and a crew of several members. The TBF-1C version followed on from the basic TBF-1 with revised armament. Thanks to the length of the fuselage the crew compartment is broken up and offers more places to look into than on a single-seat fighter.
First think through which parts of the fuselage will still be visible once it is glued together, and concentrate on those. Sand the surface, spray it with base paint and go over it with gloss varnish. Release the elements in lukewarm water, set them in place and blot up the excess water. On large flat panels it helps to seat the element in the middle first and only then press it out toward the edges, otherwise an air bubble will close under it. Once dry, knock the surface back and add a fine wash into the corners if you like.
This is an add-on to a kit, not an aircraft model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
