The painting masks New Ware 1:48 Spitfire Mk.XIV / Mk.XVIII EXPERT are for precise spraying of the glazing and the details of the fighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This extended set of painting masks in kabuki film in 1:48 scale from the maker New Ware, at the EXPERT level, serves for spraying the glazing and other details of a model of the late Spitfire in the Mk.XIV and Mk.XVIII versions. It is an accessory for masking during painting, not a kit.
The Spitfire Mk.XIV and Mk.XVIII were among the highest-performing versions of this legendary British fighter. They were powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon V12 with a five-blade propeller, thanks to which the machines excelled in both speed and rate of climb in the closing stage of the Second World War.
Compared with the basic set, the EXPERT level offers a wider extent: besides the cockpit frames, as a rule also the inner side of the canopy, further clear parts, the wheels and the tip of the propeller spinner. That gives crisp and regular transitions in the finish without laborious hand masking.
Degrease the clear parts, transfer the masks onto the part according to the numbered list and press them down at the edges. Spray the paint in thin coats. Stick the inner masks on before the cockpit is closed.
The package contains masks only; the model, paints and glue are not part of it.
