Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of wet decals for a model of the twin-engine piston-powered Il-14 airliner in the P version, in the guise used for government transport. It is a set of markings in its own right, not a kit. Government machines usually differ from ordinary scheduled aircraft in their paintwork and in supplementary lettering, and that is exactly what the sheet lets a modeler show.
The Il-14 is a Soviet airliner with two radial piston engines which was used from the 1950s on shorter and medium routes. The Il-14P version is the basic passenger pattern, from which further conversions followed, including saloon interiors for carrying delegations. Machines in that role flew with a more carefully kept finish and a different color scheme from ordinary scheduled aircraft.
A government guise tends to be glossy, so it pays to smooth the surface under the decals carefully and varnish it with gloss clear coat, as the film would silver on a matte base. Cut the designs out close to the printing, dip them in lukewarm water and let them rest until they release from the backing. Once they are seated, soak the water up and leave the decal to dry without any further work. Lettering and lines running across the window line are brought home with a softener. Choose the final varnish rather gloss or semi-matte, so that the model matches a well kept machine.
This is a decal sheet in its own right, not a kit. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
