1:144 La-5F is a photo-etched accessory set for a kit of the Lavochkin La-5F fighter that you have already bought, not a model of its own. It refines the detail that cannot be captured in injected plastic in this scale.

This is an aftermarket accessory from the Czech maker Brengun, not a kit. The set is cut for one particular kit, the Kovozavody Prostejov one, and replaces or supplements selected plastic parts with photo-etched ones. In 1:144 scale the thickness of the material is crucial: a plastic part a few tenths of a millimeter thick looks coarse on a model that small, whereas etched sheet is only a few hundredths of a millimeter thick, so the proportion to the real subject is substantially truer.
The Lavochkin La-5F was a Soviet single-engine fighter from the Second World War with a Shvetsov M-82 radial engine. The structure combined wood and metal. The F version differed from the original La-5 in a revised engine and a lowered fuselage spine, which gave the pilot a better view to the rear.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, or the sheet will bend. Degrease the surface with alcohol before gluing and let it dry thoroughly. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two razor blades; on larger radii it helps to anneal the sheet briefly over a flame, after which the material gives and does not crack. It is bonded with super glue applied with a pin or a toothpick, never straight from the bottle. On a metal surface always put a primer down first, otherwise the covering coat peels away.
This is an accessory set for a model, not a kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
