A photo-etched detail set for the N1K2 Shiden-Kai model in 1:144 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. According to the name the box holds two identical sets.

An accessory from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for a modeler who already has a kit of the Japanese N1K2 Shiden-Kai fighter in 1:144 scale. The set is cut for the Platz or Aoshima model and its purpose is to replace coarsely molded features with thin metal. According to the name there are two identical sets in the box, which is handy if you are building a pair of machines or want a spare.
Most poor results with photo-etched parts do not come from the etched parts themselves but from the plastic underneath. Before you lay a photo-etched part on, the molded detail it is meant to replace has to come off the model: cut it away with a scalpel and sand the area smooth with fine paper. Only then will the new part sit flush instead of standing above the surface. Try the area dry beforehand and sand down any overhang of the etched part rather than the other way round.
Hold the fret in a vise or on a hard surface and cut the parts off with a scalpel so that nothing deforms. Degreasing with alcohol before painting is mandatory on metal, otherwise the primer slides off. Make the bends in a bending tool, and for very sharp corners anneal the metal briefly over a flame first. Bond with super glue applied in minute drops; if the parts slide around on it, let the drop tack off for a moment. Work over a light surface, because a small part in 1:144 scale is hard to find.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
