Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet with the tactical numerals of the Soviet Air Force for models in 1:144 scale. The numerals are printed in red and in blue, both versions have a black outline and the sheet offers two types of their shape.
Two sets are part of the package, so the numerals will do for a second model or to replace an element that goes wrong during application. The individual numerals are cut out of the sheet one at a time, close around the printed area, so that as little clear film as possible is left on the model.
With sheets of this kind the usual procedure is the wet one: dip the cut-out element in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it stand for a moment and then slide it off the backing paper onto a moistened place on the model. Draw the excess water off with soft paper and let the element dry undisturbed. On smooth gloss paint a decal holds better and no silvery veil forms under it; a softener will settle it into the engraved lines. Before you soak the sheet, though, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined.
The set suits the building of Soviet and Russian aircraft in a small scale, where a bold numeral on the fuselage or on the vertical tail surface tends to be the main distinguishing mark of a particular machine. It also serves when a kit lacks the number for the variant you are building, or when you want to build a machine from a photographic subject of your own.
The package holds decals. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
