About product

Scribing and riveting template Bf 109 1:72 (Atol Hobby)

This is not a kit and not an aircraft part, but a modeling aid. The photo-etched template from the Czech manufacturer Atol Hobby serves to restore panel lines and regular rows of rivets on models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in 1:72 scale accurately. The shaped cut-outs and the perforation follow the geometry of the airframe surface, so a scriber or a riveting wheel runs along a path set out for it.

Use

  • You lay the template on the surface of the model, hold it in place and run the scribing tool along the edge of a cut-out.
  • For riveting you use the perforated strip as a guide for the riveting wheel.
  • It gives a quicker and more even result than scribing freehand, and it is ideal after filling and sanding seams down, when the original lines have disappeared.
  • The metal is durable and the template lasts through many uses on several models.

Who it is for

For more advanced modelers who want to refine the surface detail of a Bf 109 and restore the engraving after sanding. The template is a tool, not a consumable.

The template contains no plastic parts and no glue. Work slowly and with a sharp tool, as the edges of photo-etched parts can be sharp.
