This is not a kit but a finished collector model in 1:72 scale from Dragon. You get it assembled, painted and with markings, so all you have to do is unpack it and stand it in a display case. The subject is the T-34/85 medium tank in the service of the Chinese People's Volunteers in the Korean War period; the number 215 in the name refers to one particular individually marked machine. That is exactly what makes the model an interesting piece in a collection: it does not stand for the type in general but for one specific vehicle.
The T-34/85 came about in 1944 as a rearmed version of the Soviet T-34 medium tank. The main change was a new, larger three-man turret with an 85 mm gun, thanks to which the commander could at last direct the fight without having to handle the gunnery at the same time. The sloped front armor of the hull, the wide tracks and the Christie-type suspension with large road wheels remained. After the Second World War the type entered the service of many other armies; in Korea it was used from 1950 to 1953 by units of the Chinese People's Volunteers too.
The model is meant for display. A display case or a shelf out of direct sunlight is ideal, because sunlight shifts the shade of the applied paints over time. Wipe dust off with a soft brush or blow it off with a blower; a cloth could wipe off the finely applied number and markings. With other models in 1:72 scale it forms a collection consistent in size.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. It is not a kit.
