This is a finished collector model in 1:72 scale from Dragon, not a kit. It arrives assembled, painted and with markings, so all you have to do is unpack it and stand it in a display case. The subject is the M4A3 Sherman tank with HVSS running gear, converted to the flamethrower variant designated POA-CWS-H5, in a condition corresponding to Korea in 1951. It is one of the less usual forms of the Sherman and appears in collections considerably more rarely than the ordinary gun versions.
The M4A3 is the American version of the Sherman medium tank with the Ford GAA gasoline engine. The abbreviation HVSS denotes the later suspension with horizontal springs and wider tracks, thanks to which the machine had a smoother ride and lower ground pressure; from the outside it is recognizable by the paired road wheels and the markedly wider track. The POA-CWS-H5 conversion replaced part of the gun armament with special equipment and came about in the Pacific theater; in Korea, similarly converted machines were then used for engineer and support tasks. From a modeling point of view what is interesting about it is precisely the differences from the standard Sherman: a different arrangement on the turret and extra equipment on the hull.
The model is meant for display. Stand it out of direct sunlight, which shifts the shade of the applied paints over time, and remove dust with a soft brush or by blowing. Small protruding parts such as handles, antennas or equipment on the hull are sensitive to being wiped with a cloth. The model matches the size of other collector models in 1:72 scale.
