A figure of a Czechoslovak soldier of 1938 in 1:16 scale. The large format will carry elaborate painting of the face and the uniform.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject is a soldier of the Czechoslovak army in 1938, that is in the year when general mobilization was declared in September and when the crisis over the border territories came to a head. A Czech subject from this year is among the less usual ones in diorama building and in a collection it stands out differently from figures from the later wartime theaters.
The 1:16 scale is a large format among figures. A figure around 175 cm tall in reality corresponds in it to roughly 11 cm, so the finished figure stands up in a display case even on its own. The large areas of the uniform are comfortable to paint with a brush as well as an airbrush and there is room on them for the soft transitions that are lost in small scales. The same size will bring out every unfinished edge as well, though.
Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape is not disturbed. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint may not hold.
The figure suits collectors of large scales and builders of scenes to go with models in 1:16 scale. Paints, glue, a base and scene accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
