A figure of a German fighter pilot of the First World War, Hermann Goering, in 1:16 scale. It is supplied unpainted and intended to be assembled.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure depicts Hermann Goering as a fighter pilot of the First World War period. He flew with the German air service and toward the end of the war commanded a fighter wing. He is a historical person who in later years became one of the leading representatives of the Nazi regime; in this rendering he is captured in his wartime flying role.
The 1:16 scale means a standing figure about eleven centimeters tall. That is quite a different task from a figure for a display case with tanks: at such a size the shape of the face, the set of the eyes and every fold of the clothing are visible, so the figure holds up even on its own on a base. At the same time a large scale forgives nothing, because an inaccuracy in painting shows at first glance.
Try the parts dry first and clean up the joints carefully after gluing, as in a large scale they would otherwise remain visible. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and the manufacturer's instructions. Before painting, wash the figure, degrease it and go over it with a base coat. Build the face up in thin layers from a darker ground toward the lighter areas and let every layer dry. Finally even the surface out with a matte clear coat, leaving only the eyes and any leather parts glossier.
Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
