What the set contains

According to the name the box holds one spare wheel, plus one separate tire and one separate rim, all with the less common off-road tread pattern. The three parts give the modeler a choice: either build a finished spare wheel, or use the loose tire and rim for a scene with a dismantled tire. The set is intended for 1:16 scale kits of the light Sd.Kfz. 250 armored half-track from Das Werk.

What it is good for

A spare wheel is a rewarding detail, because it tells a story on its own. Laid on a fender or propped against the side of the vehicle it gives the machine the service wear that the kit alone does not have. The loose tire and rim open up a scene with a wheel change as well, something that suits a diorama better than one more faultlessly assembled vehicle. Where the spare wheel belongs on the vehicle follows from the subject and from the kit instructions.

Building and painting tips

• Wash the parts before gluing and painting and let them dry perfectly.
• Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder down.
• Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; the exact procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
• Paint the spare wheel differently from the wheels under the vehicle; dust lies on it unevenly.
• Do not forget the inner side of the loose tire: on a dismantled wheel it is visible.

A set of spare wheel parts is supplied. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
