These turned width indicators for German vehicles in 1:16 scale from the Polish brand MASTER hold four pieces of the longer version, of the kind carried for example by the armored cars of the Sd.Kfz. 234 series.

The Width indicators for German vehicles set from the Polish maker MASTER brings four turned metal rods in the longer version. In the large 1:16 scale this is a part that cannot be overlooked: plastic castings in this size tend to be visibly thicker than they should be, and they snap off easily when a finished model is handled. Metal solves that problem from both sides.
German armored vehicles carried thin rods with a white tip on the fenders or on the front of the hull. By them the driver could judge in the dark and when driving in convoy where he would fit, because the edges of the machine were not visible from his seat. The longer variant belonged, among other places, to the heavy eight-wheeled reconnaissance cars of the Sd.Kfz. 234 series, which from 1943 were deployed mainly on the Eastern Front and in North Africa.
Drill the holes at the mounting points to the diameter of the shank and glue the rod in with super glue. Brass is smooth, so degrease the surface before spraying and use a primer intended for metal, or the paint will chip off at a touch. The tips were typically left light so that they could be made out at dusk. Fit the parts only in the last stage of the build, when you will no longer be moving the model about so much.
