Trumpeter WWII Soviet Army Tank Crewman in 1942 (1:16) is a large-format plastic figure of a Soviet tank crewman of 1942, to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
This large-format figure from Trumpeter in 1:16 scale shows a Soviet tank crewman of the Red Army in 1942. The larger scale lets the details of the uniform, the face and the gear come into their own, which makes this single figure a rewarding subject for more advanced painters who want to work skin and fabric in depth. The figure is broken down into torso, legs, arms and a separate head; period accessories and a stand belong to the assembly. It is an injection-molded plastic kit to be glued and painted.
Soviet tank crewmen wore the distinctive leather or canvas tank helmet with padded ribs and simple overalls. The year 1942 was a period of hard defensive fighting for the Red Army; the crews of tanks such as the T-34 or the KV were among the mainstays of Soviet resistance. A crewman's gear also included the PPSh-41 submachine gun, a pistol holster and magazine pouches.
Clean up the parts, glue them with cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched accessories with cyanoacrylate glue. In a large scale a primer and patient layering pay off – build the skin with glazes, and underpaint and highlight the uniform so that the folds of the fabric stand out. Bring out the leather elements of the helmet and the straps with sheen and a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
