Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman J2F Duck is an American single-engine amphibious biplane. You will recognize it at a glance by the large central float built in under the fuselage, into which the main landing gear legs retract. The machine served with the US Navy and the Coast Guard on secondary duties: observation, liaison, transporting personnel and recovering crews from the water.
Photo-etched metal parts of the instrument panel in 1:72 scale. The name of the set states that it is prepared for the Airfix kit, so the shape and dimensions fit that one; if you use it on another kit, count on having to adjust the seating. Photo-etching will carry far finer drawing of the dial faces and the instrument bezels than can be created on a plastic part, and the cockpit looks deeper thanks to it.
The parts are held on a carrier sheet by thin tabs. Cutting them through with a sharp blade on a hard surface is safer than breaking them out, because a fine part twists easily; then sand the remainder of the tab with fine sandpaper. Make the folds in a bending tool or between the smooth jaws of a pair of pliers. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and use a primer intended for metal, otherwise the coat will hold poorly. It is bonded with super glue applied in a tiny amount, best of all with the tip of a piece of wire.
The set suits modelers who want to see the cockpit open and are not satisfied with an instrument panel molded in plastic. Working with photo-etched parts calls for tweezers and a steady hand.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
