A turned metal 88 mm barrel for a model of the Tiger I Ausf. E tank in 1:35 scale, in the form without a muzzle brake. An accessory for a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale intended as a replacement for the plastic barrel on a model of the German Tiger I Ausf. E heavy tank. According to the name it is the form without a muzzle brake. It is not a kit but an accessory for a model, fitted in place of the part from the box.
A plastic barrel is made up of two halves, so a mold seam is left on it which has to be sanded away, and in the process the circular cross-section is easily spoiled. A turned part is perfectly straight and round from the outset, has a crisp muzzle and more faithful transitions of diameter. Metal is also stiffer, so a long barrel does not sag even after years in a display case. Check the particular metal, the number of parts and the way it is attached on the packaging of the set.
Always try the part dry before gluing, as the hole in the plastic base of the barrel sometimes needs widening slightly. Glue it with super glue or two-part glue, as ordinary glue for polystyrene will not join metal. Degrease the surface first and apply a primer intended for metal, otherwise the paint holds badly. Paint the barrel in the same shade as the vehicle and add the highlights only at the end. If you are building a vehicle with a muzzle brake, count on this item not containing one, according to the name.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
