The dry brush is technically simple, but it punishes impatience without mercy. The vast majority of failures has one of four causes. The first is too much paint on the brush, after which the paint does not catch selectively and the whole surface gets clogged. The second is pressure, with which the modeler presses the paint into the surface even where it is not wanted. The third is a stroke along the length of the edge instead of across it, which leaves a continuous line looking like a careless coat. The fourth is working on a base that has not cured, when the brush smears or wipes off the base coat.
Let the base coat cure completely, have a paper tissue ready for wiping the paint off and work in good light. Checking from a distance is essential: close up a dry brush almost always looks overdone, and only from working distance can you see whether the effect sits right.
For modelers who are only just trying the technique, and for experienced ones who can use a richer green tone in their highlighting palette.
Keep the paint well closed and out of the reach of children, and ventilate while working. Instructions for thinning and handling are on the manufacturer's packaging.
