Jade Green Marble - Square Die-Cut Tiles

Jade Green Marble - Square Die-Cut Tiles: pieces with a green marble pattern

Die-cut square pieces with a green marble pattern in a jade tone. They are laid side by side into paving and serve as a backing under a finished figure, a bust or a model in a display case.

Green stone is rewarding under collector and fantasy figures. The cool green suggests the floor of a temple or a palace, so it complements figures in armor, the undead and models with bronze and copper detail. Under ordinary military vehicles it suits rather when the aim is a display backing and not a realistic scene, because you will not find such a surface in the field.

The display case as a whole. If you use the same pieces under all the figures of one collection, the display gains a common theme even when the individual pieces differ in age and in the level of finish. With older work it is the simplest way to bring them visually into line with the newer ones.

What to bear in mind when laying them

• Line the pieces up along a single drawn line, otherwise the grid will gradually twist to one side.
• A colored pattern tolerates only a few other colors around it; leave the edge of the plinth black or dark gray.
• Put cut pieces at the back and along the edges, and whole pieces at the front where the eye looks.
• Protect the finished surface from fingerprints, which tend to show clearly on a polished pattern.

Who they are for

For collectors of figures and busts and for modelers who want a uniform but not dull backing throughout a display case. Check the size of the pieces, their number and the material against the details on the box.
