Classic British Steam Locomotives Set

Classic British Steam Locomotives Set from AMMO of Mig Jimenez

Classic British Steam Locomotives Set is a set of paints from the railway range of AMMO of Mig Jimenez. Its theme is classic British steam locomotives, that is machines whose finishes were among the most striking in Europe: the British railway companies took pride in the colors of their locomotives and a shade was part of their corporate identity, not merely protection for the sheet metal.

Why a themed set makes sense

Putting a palette for a particular subject together out of individual bottles is lengthy and it is easy to pick the wrong one in the process. A themed set removes that work: the shades are chosen for one group of subjects, so you do not have to search for them and compare them. Look for the particular make-up of the set on the package.

What it is suited to

• The finishes of models of British steam locomotives and their tenders.
• Work on a model railway as well as on static models of railway vehicles.
• Adding to a workshop palette when you build British subjects more systematically.
• A base for the weathering that follows, which plays a great part on steam machines: coal, ash, grease and limescale leave pronounced traces behind them.
• Railway elements of dioramas, where a locomotive has to sit with the surrounding scene.

Who it is for

For railway modelers with a focus on British subjects and for builders of dioramas with a railway theme. Apply the paints with a brush or an airbrush according to the size of the area: an airbrush handles the boiler and the tender better, a brush the small fittings. Mix every bottle properly before work, so that the tone stays the same throughout.

Keep the paints out of the reach of children, close the containers carefully after work and ventilate during longer work with an airbrush.
