Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale for a plastic kit of the Japanese fighter Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate, designated Frank by the Allies. The fourth part of the Art Scale series focuses on machines of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force with the 104th Sentai. The set contains markings only — you will not find a kit, paints or glue in it.
The Ki-84 Hayate was a late Japanese army fighter with the Nakajima Ha-45 radial engine. It offered higher speed and rate of climb than the older army types and carried an armament of cannons and machine guns. A sentai was the basic flying formation of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, roughly at regiment level, and belonging to one showed on the machines in a pronounced way — in the shape and color of the marking on the vertical tail surface, in the tactical numbers and in the bands. It is exactly these markings that turn otherwise similar machines into models that can be told apart at a glance.
Apply them to a smooth, glossy base, or a silvery edge will be left around the artwork. Cut the artwork out tightly, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest on the paper until the film starts to slide. Apply the large markings on the tail surfaces in one go and measure the position in advance — once dry they cannot be moved. Over engraved lines use a decal softener, and once everything is dry unify the model with a matte or semi-gloss clear varnish.
