3D decals for the cockpit of the MiG-29 Fulcrum-A in the 9-12 form, 1:72 scale — color relief printing for the analog panel of the early version.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of three-dimensional decals for the interior of a plastic model of the MiG-29 in the 9-12 form in 1:72 scale, cut for the kit from the Great Wall Hobby brand. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory: besides printed color the decals also have a layer of firm relief, and they are applied directly onto the plastic cockpit parts. They save the coloring of dozens of small dials, which are very difficult to paint in this scale.
The Mikoyan MiG-29 in the 9-12 form is the early production version of the single-seat frontline fighter, to which the designation Fulcrum-A corresponds. It is precisely on this version that the tie to the cockpit matters: the panel is still fully analog, that is densely packed with round instruments, and it differs from the later upgraded forms, which already have multifunction displays. The set for the 9-12 version therefore fits the early fighter and not the later machines.
Spray the cockpit parts with the base interior color and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the decal out close to the edge, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and transfer it with tweezers; in 1:72 scale the individual instruments are really tiny, so have good light and a magnifier ready. The relief layer is thicker than on an ordinary decal — let it bed down slowly into the shape of the part and press it only gently with a cotton swab. Dose the softener drop by drop, so that the relief does not ripple. Flatten the dry interior slightly and fit the glazing last.
