This set of tinting film from SX-Art serves to darken the windows and vision blocks of the K-4386 Typhoon-VDV armored car in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit and not a vehicle model but an accessory for the build. The film is cut for the Zvezda kit, so the shapes match the clear parts of that particular mold. The shade of this item is green.
Clear parts often look empty once glued into a model, and an unfinished interior shows through them. Tinting film removes that impression: it imitates the tinted armored glass this class of vehicle actually carries and at the same time cuts down the view inside. The result looks markedly more faithful in photographs than untreated clear plastic.
Peel the parts off the sheet only when you are about to need them, and handle them with smooth-jawed tweezers. Degrease the surface of the clear part beforehand and free it of dust. Press the film down from the center toward the edges so that no air is trapped underneath. Trim any overhang with a fresh scalpel blade resting against the edge of the part. Work with the clear parts only once painting is finished, so that no overspray settles on the film.
