This is an aid to painting, not a kit. The masks are cut in advance to the shape of the surfaces that are to stay unpainted after spraying, and they are stuck onto a model in 1:35 scale that is already under way.
A vehicle without a crew is painted differently
An unmanned ground vehicle has neither a cab nor windows. In their place it has, on the turret and on the hull, an array of optical and sensor heads set all the way around the vehicle. Visually they are small glossy areas within an otherwise matte and dusty whole, and it is precisely their contrast that makes the model believable. If they get painted over, the vehicle looks like a blind block.
