Holographic film in 1:35 scale for imitating the glasses of the vision blocks and the optics on a model of the British FV510 Warrior infantry fighting vehicle, cut for the Meng kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The FV510 Warrior is a British tracked infantry fighting vehicle with a rotating turret, brought into service at the end of the 1980s and deployed in a whole series of overseas operations of the British Army. On a model the optics are among the most conspicuous places: the periscopes, the vision blocks and the glasses of the lights are small, but it is precisely they that catch the light on a finished vehicle and draw the eye.
Holographic film imitates the reflection of real optics. According to the angle of view it changes color and depth, so a vision block does not look like a surface painted silver but like glass with something reflected in it. The set is cut for the Meng kit, so the shapes match the parts of that kit. The extent of the set and the position of the individual elements are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer, and it pays to go through them before painting the model.
Work with the elements using tweezers and with clean hands, as fingerprints show on a glossy surface. First clean the place they are going and rid it of dust, or a bubble will form under the film. Try the arrangement dry before fixing it. For gluing, a glue intended for clear parts is suitable, because super glue can fog a glossy surface with a white bloom. Fit the film only to a model that is fully painted and varnished, so that neither paint nor sanding dust gets onto it.
The package contains the film to the extent given by the manufacturer. The model of the vehicle, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
