Holographic film for the optics of the BREM-1 1:35 from SX-Art replaces the plastic vision ports and periscopes of the recovery vehicle with clear parts that need no painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This SX-Art set holds clear parts for the optics of the BREM-1 armored recovery vehicle, which is built on the chassis of the T-72 tank. They replace the driver's and the commander's plastic periscopes as well as the other vision ports in the hull and the superstructure. They seat into the openings left by the original parts from the kit. This is not a model of the vehicle, but a detailing accessory for it.
On a recovery vehicle the main visual load is carried by the working equipment and the optics. An injection-molded vision port goes dull once sprayed and blends into the hull, so the model looks flatter than the real machine does. Holographic film has a prismatic shine that shifts shade with the viewing angle, does not have to be painted and remains the only glossy place once the rest of the vehicle is matted.
The parts belong on the model at the very end, after spraying, decals and weathering. Clean and degrease the opening left by the plastic part, try the part dry and only then fix it in place. A clear glue for windows that does not haze as it cures is the right choice. Wipe dust and pigment off the surroundings with a dry cotton swab so that the glossy surface does not get clogged.
