The narrow jaws reach into a space a wider tool will not enter, and the side cutter lets you nip a wire or a pin off without putting the tool down.
When fitting antennas and cables, when bending wire for grab handles and rungs, when holding a small part during gluing or when pulling a part out of a tight place. They are useful as well for straightening bent wire and for work where fingers no longer fit into the model.
Grip a part only with enough force to hold it; thin material is easily crushed in the jaws and the marks will never come off the surface again.
