Pliers with round jaws and a side cutting edge. They serve for bending wire into arcs and eyes as well as for cutting it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The round jaws taper toward the tip, so on them you can bend wire into an arc of practically any radius: the closer to the tip you set the wire, the tighter the bend that arises. That is exactly the work flat and pointed pliers are not suited to, because they break a bend over an edge. On a model round pliers suit making loops and eyes out of wire, shaping grab handles, antennas and control rods, and finishing wire armatures in figures and dioramas. The side edge also lets you shorten the wire straight away, so there is no need to reach for a second tool during the work.
Lead the bend slowly and hold the wire with your other hand so that it does not twist on its axis. An eye is formed by turning the pliers, not by pulling on the wire. The side edge is meant for wire; hardened material, strings and nails will chip it. Smooth round jaws do not hold flat parts, so use pliers with a straight jaw to hold and bend those. The tool does not serve as a wrench or as a lever.
Keep the pliers dry and clean and put a drop of oil on the joint now and then. Protect the edges from striking hard metal, as a chipped nick in an edge cannot sensibly be repaired. After work with glues and paints, wipe the jaws so that no layer builds up on them that would then print into soft wire.
Wire, modeling material and other tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
