Excel Serrated Long Nose Pliers are long needle nose pliers with serrated jaws. The serration holds a slippery part and greasy wire, so it does not slip out either under a pull or during a bend.
Responsibility details are not available.
Serrated jaws solve one problem: a grip that does not give. A smooth jaw slides off round wire, off a greasy metal part or off a resin casting the moment you put force into it. The teeth on a serrated jaw bite lightly into the material and carry the whole pull. That is why these pliers suit everywhere it is not the look of the gripped spot that matters but the fact that it holds.
Typical use
Pulling out a pressed-in axle or pin that will not budge. Holding a brass tube while you shorten it with a saw. Tensioning and straightening wire for antennas and cables. Also taking apart a joint that came out other than it should and needs to be pulled off without the part slipping in your fingers. At such moments a longer slim nose is an advantage, because you reach a place your fingers cannot get to in a tight structure.
The serration prints. These pliers do not belong on a visible surface, on a chromed part, on clear plastic or on thin photo-etch; the smooth-jawed variant serves for that. When you have no other option, put a piece of soft plastic or tape between the jaw and the part. A slim nose is also not a lever: heavy prying bends it and the jaws then stop meeting.
Degrease the joint now and then and put a drop of oil on it. The pliers are not intended for prying or for work with hardened steel.
