The masking set 1:32 Tornado GR.4 one-sided express fit mask from Art Scale is intended for masking the glazing of a model of the British Panavia Tornado GR.4 combat aircraft in 1:32 scale. Intended for the Italeri kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive masks from the manufacturer Art Scale for a large model of the Panavia Tornado GR.4 in 1:32 scale. The set is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The masks are stuck directly onto the clear part and replace the laborious cutting of masking tape, which is particularly thankless with the Tornado. The target kit is Italeri.
Long straight frames are a trap
The Tornado has a two-seat tandem cockpit with a long canopy and straight frames running right across the model. Tape cut by hand almost always wanders somewhere or ripples in a long straight run, and the result is visible from a meter away. Pre-shaped masks hold a straight line along the whole length and keep the frame the same width on the left and on the right. The one-sided version masks the outer side of the glazing, that is, the side the upper finish goes onto.
The Panavia Tornado is a twin-engine combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed in cooperation between Great Britain, Germany and Italy. The GR.4 version is the upgraded British strike variant intended for attacks on ground targets and for reconnaissance, and it served with the Royal Air Force until 2019.
Degrease the part before sticking the masks on. With long straight strips, lay the mask down from one end and press it on gradually, so that no bubble forms anywhere. Spray the paint in several thin coats at right angles to the edge of the mask, not at a slant under it. The gray shades of modern aircraft have little covering power, so rather more light passes than one heavy one.
The masking set is an accessory for a model, and the model itself and paints are not included in the package.
