A stowage and equipment set for the Valentine 1:35 from PANZER ART: resin castings for the British infantry tank. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of resin castings with which a model of the British Mk III Valentine infantry tank in 1:35 scale is completed with what the crew actually carried on the vehicle: rolled tarpaulins, crates, jerrycans and other equipment placed around the hull and on the fenders. It is exactly the stowage that distinguishes a model out of the box from a vehicle that looks as though it is going somewhere and somebody lives in it. It is not a tank kit but an accessory added to a finished model.
The Valentine was a British infantry tank of the Second World War, built in the largest numbers of all British tanks of the time. It was small, reliable and slow, because infantry tanks were meant to accompany infantry, not to chase breakthroughs. It was deployed in North Africa and supplied in large quantities to the Soviet Union. Crews commonly packed their vehicles with tarpaulins, crates and spare parts for which there was no room inside, so in the field the vehicles looked different from the way they left the line.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that mold release residue disappears from the surface. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and level the area, and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Resin is glued with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. Lay the stowage out dry first and only then glue it; the arrangement matters more here than the castings themselves. Tarpaulins and wood stand out when, after the base coat, you go over them with a dark penetrating coat and lighten the edges.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
