1:48 F/A-18F is a double-sided painting mask from Art Scale for a model of the two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet carrier aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.

A self-adhesive mask cut to shape in advance, prepared for the outer and the inner side of the glazing. On modern carrier aircraft that brings a concrete benefit: the canopy is large, formed in one piece and often tinted, so the frame prints through strongly when seen from inside. A masked interior lets you spray the frames from inside in the interior shade and from outside in the gray camouflage, so the cockpit looks credible from both sides.
The F/A-18F Super Hornet is the two-seat version of the multirole carrier aircraft of the US Navy. Compared with the older machines of the Hornet line, the Super Hornet is larger, has a different shape of air intakes and a greater range. The letter F marks the two-seat variant, while the single-seater carries the letter E. The rear seat is taken by a second crew member who works the sensors and the armament. The finish consists of two shades of gray with low contrast, on which every inexact frame edge shows clearly.
Wash the clear part in lukewarm soapy water and let it dry. Apply the inner masks, spray the frames in the interior shade, once that is dry mask from the outside and lay on the base and the camouflage. Spray thinly, in several coats. Take the mask off while the paint has only just dried. It is better not to go over a tinted canopy with a clear coat, as that would change the shade of the tint.
