This kit from Master Box represents the Centaur, the mythical creature with the torso of a man and the body of a horse, in 1:24 scale. The set holds one injection-molded plastic figure conceived in a fantasy style rather than as a strictly historical reconstruction. The model is intended to be assembled and painted and suits a display case figure on its own as well as a part of a fantasy scene.
Centaurs are among the best known beings of ancient Greek mythology. The joining of human and equine form makes them a rewarding subject for sculpture and for modeling alike, one that lets both the anatomy and the dynamics of the pose stand out.
Clean up the parts and glue them with cement for plastic, then fill and sand the mold seams. For a figure, a base coat of primer and then layered shades of skin, coat and accessories work well. Bring out the volume and the muscles with shading and drybrushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package.
