An injection-molded plastic kit of the invented Garland SF-03 racing machine from the Japanese animated series Cyber Formula, specifically from the part of it called Saga. The model comes from the Japanese company Aoshima, which runs the machines from this series as a coherent line in 1:24. The designation in the name gives two forms of the machine, Circuit Mode and Boost Mode, that is two aerodynamic configurations in which the car appears in the original. Aoshima reissues the titles of this line, so the same machine comes out in several releases; when choosing, go by the exact designation and the release.
Cyber Formula is a fictional racing series of the future, not an existing motor sport championship. The machines have an enclosed cabin, covered chassis parts and pronounced aerodynamic items, and a number of them are rebuilt in the story between several modes that change the position of the wings and the covers. That is exactly what the Circuit Mode and Boost Mode designations refer to on this machine. The Garland SF-03 belongs to the machines of the main crew's rivals and differs from the other cars of the series in its proportions and in the treatment of the front end.
Sharp aerodynamic edges call for careful sanding so that they do not get rounded off. Spray the body with filler primer, apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and prepare a gloss base under the decals. Mask the cockpit glazing and glue it with a glue that is gentle on clear plastic. If you want to bring out the breakdown of the parts, run a liquid shade along the engraved lines so that it flows in by capillary action, and wipe the excess away. Put the body together dry before painting, as with machines that have more than one configuration it is best to decide in advance which form of the car you want to build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
