1:24 Pitstop 24 Hours Of Le Mans Type 1 Base sets a finished car into the setting of the pits of the most famous endurance race.
Responsibility details are not available.
The base is a finished backdrop under the model's feet. You take it out of the wrapping, lay it flat on a shelf and stand a finished car on it. From that moment the car is no longer standing on furniture but in the setting it belongs to. It is not a kit and nothing is glued to it.
The 24-hour race near the French town of Le Mans has been run since 1923 and is the oldest great endurance race in the world. The cars there do not race against the clock over a single lap but against the fatigue of crews and machinery, and the result is often decided by the speed of the work in the pits during the night. That is why a pit stop at Le Mans carries a different weight from anywhere else.
1:24 scale is the most widespread scale of car models of all, so anything from a sports prototype to a production coupe fits on the base. The Type 1 designation points out that the manufacturer has worked the motif up in more than one form. In a cabinet the surface anchors a car optically, and when photographing it replaces an improvised backdrop, which always creases or shows through somewhere. The result then looks like a cut-out of a real setting rather than an improvisation on a table.
Neither the car nor pit equipment is part of this offer.
