Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VI 1:24 Trumpeter is a large-format injection-molded plastic kit of the British high-altitude fighter of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit from Trumpeter represents the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VI fighter in the large 1:24 scale. The set is made of injection-molded plastic and offers rich rendering of the surface, a detailed engine bay and a film instrument panel; decals for period markings are in the box. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The Spitfire Mk.VI was the first version of the Spitfire designed directly for combat at high altitude. It grew out of the Mk.V airframe and received a pressurized cabin and a Merlin engine adapted for high altitudes, together with extended wingtips. Only a small number were built, which makes it an interesting and less usual variant of this famous fighter.
The large format will be appreciated by detailers: the cockpit and the engine deserve careful accentuation. Use liquid modeling cement for the plastic, apply a primer and spray the camouflage with an airbrush. Bring out the panel lines with a wash; a matte varnish evens out the surface both under the decals and after them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
