Masks, Peewit 1:48 Breguet XIV A2, Polish national insignia, for spraying the markings instead of using decals. The set covers the Polish version of the markings of this biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masks for spraying national insignia from the Peewit brand for a model of the Breguet XIV A2 in 1:48 scale, in the variant with Polish markings. It is not a kit or a set of decals. The markings are laid on in paint through the mask, so no film of carrier is left on the surface of the model, there is no risk of silvering and the insignia lies level with the surrounding finish. On a biplane with a fabric covering, where a decal seats badly over the ribbing, that is a noticeable difference.
The Breguet XIV was among the most widespread French aircraft of the end of the First World War. The A2 designation corresponds to the two-seat reconnaissance version. Thanks to its construction from light metals it was unusually durable for its day, and so its service did not end with the war: the machines spread to a number of European countries including Poland, where they flew in the first years of building up its own air force. From that comes the fact that the same aircraft is found with very different national markings and that the manufacturer makes the masks in several versions.
For modelers building the Breguet XIV A2 in 1:48 scale in Polish markings who want their insignia sprayed and not stuck on. It suits above all builders of aircraft of the First World War and the interwar period, where decals behave worst on a fabric surface.
