Pre-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:72 scale for a model of the Fokker S-12 trainer, known in Brazilian service as the T-22. This is not an aircraft model but an accessory that substantially speeds up and sharpens the work on the glazing. The material conforms well to curves and leaves no adhesive behind once removed, so the canopy frames come out crisp even where masking by hand with tape would be difficult.
The Fokker S-11 Instructor was a Dutch two-seat trainer with a piston engine, a low-wing monoplane of conventional construction with tailwheel landing gear. The S-12 version differed from it in having nosewheel landing gear, which made training easier for pilots moving on to more modern machines. The S-12 was built under license in Brazil and the Brazilian Air Force introduced it under the type designation T-22, while the older S-11 carried the designation T-21 there. Both types served as basic trainers for many years.
The masks are transferred onto a clean and degreased surface, pressed down all around and oversprayed with paint in several thin coats. Remove the mask while the paint is still fresh, as the edge then stays crisp. It pays to spray the interior shade of the frames first and only then the outer camouflage.
