Wheels of wooden construction in 1:48 scale, that is spoked wheels with hubs and rims of the kind fitted to farm vehicles, carts and older trailers. The marking ver. 1 sets this form apart from the other options of the same range, which differ in shape and size. The number of pieces in the package is given by the manufacturer.
The wheels are used on animal-drawn carts, on handcarts and in the equipment of yards and farms, but also as a discarded piece against the wall of a barn or on a heap of junk. It is exactly such small things that give a diorama its scale and show that the scene was alive even before the main model arrived.
Cut off the excess material and the traces of production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the rim of the wheel stays regular. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on parts that are not polystyrene, super glue holds. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. Wood looks good when you apply a dark glaze into the recesses over a brown base and bring out the edges and the grain with a dry brush. Set the metal hoops and hubs apart with a darker color and a light rusty cast, and then dust the lower part of the wheel with a pigment the color of the surrounding soil.
