GREEN GLOW Resin Crystals - Small

What the package offers

Small resin crystals in a green color version, in the smaller of the sizes offered. They are finished shaped features that only need placing and gluing; nothing is assembled on them. The same range is also produced in larger sizes and in further color versions, so they can be combined into clusters in which small and larger pieces together form a naturally irregular group. How many pieces the package holds and how large they are is stated on the box.

Where it fits

The crystals belong above all into fantasy and science-fiction scenes: on bases of figures, into cave settings, into mining scenes and everywhere a scene is to look as if something in it were glowing. They also find use as a small color accent on an otherwise earthy base, because a translucent material sets itself apart at once among matte soils and stones.

How to work with them

• The crystals are not polystyrene and cement for plastic has no effect on them; use super glue.
• Wash and degrease both the area and the crystal before gluing, otherwise the joint will not hold.
• Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder.
• You keep the translucency by leaving the crystal unpainted and painting only its surroundings.
• A light base under the foot of a crystal brightens its color, a dark one mutes it.
• Add the surrounding soil at the very end, so that dust does not settle on the crystals.
