This is a set of painting masks from the manufacturer Art Scale in 1:48, not a kit of the aircraft. According to the name the set is double-sided, that is meant for masking from both sides of the glazing. On the Fw 190 the inner cockpit framing is clearly visible through the large area of glass, so an unpainted interior cannot be hidden on a finished model. The single-sided form of the same type is listed by the manufacturer as a separate item. The set is cut for the parts of the Eduard kit; on a model from another manufacturer the shapes need not agree.
The Fw 190A-7 version came about at the end of 1943 as a transitional link between the widespread A-6 series and the later, most numerous A-8. The main change was heavier armament in the engine cowling: in place of light machine guns the aircraft received heavier weapons, because of which the shape of the covers in front of the cockpit had to be modified. Relatively few of them were built, which makes the variant all the more interesting for modelers who do not want to build the most common subversions. For masking it matters that the shape of the cockpit canopy stayed the same as on the earlier versions of the A series.
Wash and degrease the glazing so that the mask seats along the whole length of the edge. Mask and spray the inner side before closing the fuselage. Lay the paint on in thin coats and take the mask off shortly after it is touch dry, before the varnish has fully cured. Work the sliding canopy separately and attach it at the end of the build.
