VEHICLES OF THE POLISH 1ST ARMOURED DIVISION – CAMOUFLAGE PROFILE GUIDE is a modeling publication from the AK interactive publishing house devoted to the camouflage and markings of the vehicles of the 1st Polish Armoured Division.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a book from the profile edition of the AK interactive publishing house, not a kit. The publication concentrates on the camouflage and the markings of the vehicles used by the 1st Polish Armoured Division on the Western Front in 1944 and 1945. For modelers it serves above all as a pictorial reference by which the color scheme and the placement of the divisional insignia and tactical numbers are decided.
The 1st Polish Armoured Division was formed in Great Britain from Polish soldiers who reached the West after 1939 and it fought under the command of General Maczek. It entered the fighting in Normandy, where it took part in closing the Falaise pocket, and went on advancing through Belgium, the Netherlands and northern Germany. It was armed and equipped with British materiel, so its vehicles carried British camouflage schemes completed with divisional symbols of their own. That combination is exactly what makes the unit a rewarding modeling subject: well known British vehicles with unmistakable markings.
It will be appreciated by modelers of military vehicles of the Second World War, by collectors of literature on the campaign in Western Europe and by everyone who wants to build a vehicle with Polish divisional markings and needs reliable pictorial support for it.
It is a printed publication, not a model kit.
